Biography
Frank Reyes was born in the town of Tenares in Boba Arriba, Dominican Republic. During his childhood, Frank Reyes developed his artistic talent as part of a musical group which was formed by himself and his brothers. At the age of 12, Frank decided to travel to Santo Domingo. He worked several jobs in hopes of achieving his own business someday. Through his job as a grocer, Frank met John B. Genáo, a young talent scout. Through Genao, Frank was able to realize his great dream of releasing an album. His first production was titled Tu Serás Mi Reina and Frank Reyes became the self appointed, "Prince of Bachata." The following years brought much success for Frank.
In 1997 he released the song, “Extraño Mi Pueblo” which, like his previous production, achieved much success in several countries, allowing Frank to attain platinum record sales, surpassing the other Bachateros of the moment.
In 2001, Frank won the award for Bachata artist of the year.
In 2002 Frank Reyes raised the bar for Bachata when he decided to give a concert entitled "Bachata gala”, which took place in the amphitheater of one of the most famous hotels in the Dominican capital. On this occasion Frank Reyes was accompanied by the musical direction of maestro Jorge Tavera. This concert was the first time that an artist of the genre Bachata has sung with a great orchestra.
