Veronica y Avance. Three words that at this time last year were not part of Batanga’s vocabulary are now checked, circled and highlighted in our handy-dandy Tejano music dictionary. This act is bringing “young” back to La Onda and taking Tejano to the MySpace generation. Their first record Señora Luna is hot off the independent press and turning a lot heads. The multifaceted Veronica Sustaita has tons of Texas spunk and the Avance musicians own a fresh and jazzy sound. They are definitely a shot in the arm of an already tired Tejano industry.
