Moderatto
(EMI Latin)

MAY 2007
A mixture of 80’s hair rock, The Darkness and Spinal Tap, Moderatto’s latest album is the first with all original songs written by singer Bryan Amadeus Moderatto (aka Jay de la Cueva) and an eclectic line up that includes Reyli, Leonel Garcia and Natalia Jiménez. On ¡Grrrr! the glam rockers added the power ballad element to their over-the-top sound, proving that there’s a heart under the teased hair and make-up. Yet songs like the first single “Sentimettal,” with Bon Jovi-like power choruses, and “Verano Gris,” which brings to mind Kiss’ disco infused “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” make you want to put on your old spandex, bring out the Aqua Net and turn it up to eleven.
